Tom McCuiston is the Managing Partner at McCuiston Law Offices, PLLC. As an attorney Tom utilizes his prior work experience with an international accounting firm to help individuals with their long term estate planning goals. McCuiston Law Offices, PLLC, has been serving clients since 2001 with offices in both Cary and Raleigh, North Carolina.
Tom is a National Tax Practice Institute (NTPI) Fellow, a Board Certified Estate Planning Specialist and frequent lecturer on business law, estate planning and tax issues, to such organizations as the NCACPA, NC Society of Enrolled Agents (NCSEA), Mecklenburg Bar Association, and North Carolina Bar Association. He previously served on the board of directors for the Cary Community Foundation as well as the Apex Chamber of Commerce, NCSEA and the NCACPA Foundation. Most recently, Tom has been recognized by his peers as a member of the Legal Elite in Tax/Estate Planning.
Tom earned both his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Phi Beta Kappa) and his Masters of Accounting degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He began his professional career in the Los Angeles office of the international accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche, focusing on tax planning, tax compliance and IRS representation. A Wake County native, Tom returned to North Carolina to pursue his J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After receiving his law degree Tom worked for a private firm in Cary before establishing McCuiston Law Offices in 2001. He enjoys working with small business owners and individuals to simplify their lives.

Mary is a North Carolina native from Sparta and a graduate of Appalachian State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
Mary joined our office in November of 2001. Following her 20+ years of employment at McCuiston Law Offices, Mary is now enjoying a life of semi-retirement from her mountain home. She works remote and part-time (whenever she isn't too busy kayaking, hiking, and visiting with her family). As a paralegal, Mary works primarily in the area of estate planning, but also contributes to other practice areas, including business entity formations and drafting of various business contracts and agreements.

Nathaniel Parker practices in the areas of real estate transactions, land use, zoning, and real estate litigation. He helps clients obtain approvals to use their land and protects their rights when they are wrongly denied those approvals. Nathaniel also guides clients through the process of buying and selling property, and where property disputes cannot be resolved, he represents clients in state and federal courts.
Nathaniel grew up in the Triangle and holds degrees from UNC-Chapel Hill, Washington and Lee University School of Law, and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He started his career in 2005 as law clerk for U.S. District Court Judge James C. Dever III in Raleigh. He has practiced real estate and land use law at large, international and small, local firms in the Triangle, joining McCuiston Law Offices in 2024.
Nathaniel is a member of the NC Bar Association Zoning Planning and Land Use Section, the Real Estate Lawyer Association of North Carolina, and the Wake County Bar Association. He has provided legal assistance to human trafficking survivors and chaired the North Carolina Domestic Violence Commission. He and his family served as missionaries in Mexico for three years.

Gretchen Street joined McCuiston Law in July, 2014. She brings six years of experience as a Judicial Assistant to a superior court judge in Fulton County, GA, as well as two years’ experience working for an Atlanta estate planning attorney.

Mary Vickers joined McCuiston Law Offices in January 2024. As a paralegal, she works primarily in matters concerning estate administration, business transactions, and tax. Mary joins our firm with over 20 years of paralegal experience in bankruptcy law, and we are excited to have her as part of our team.

Maggie Newton joined McCuiston Law Offices in September 2023 following her graduation from the University of North Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies. She assists with administrative and paralegal duties in a range of practice areas, including estate planning, entity formation, and contract drafting.
